The Owner/ Head Hitting Instructor David Ring was born and raised in San Diego, CA.  He developed his love of baseball playing for UC Little League. Ring went on the play at University City High School where he excelled as a shortstop and hitter.  He earned 4 varsity letters while shattering the school record for career hits.  After high 

The Owner/ Head Hitting Instructor David Ring was born and raised in San Diego, CA.  He developed his love of baseball playing for UC Little League. Ring went on the play at University City High School where he excelled as a shortstop and hitter.  He earned 4 varsity letters while shattering the school record for career hits.  After high school, Ring went on to play at the University of Redlands, a top ranked Division 3 program in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).  He established Canyonside in 2009 after coaching travel and high school baseball.  Currently he consults  Youth, High School, Collegiate, and MLB athletes year round.

1. Mechanics: We focus on The Swing Sequence, Bat Path, & Getting to a good Launch Position.  Here are other concepts we teach during lessons.

2.  Intention:  The driving force that regulates all movement.   A winning hitter is aggressive under control.  Mentally tough and dedicated to the production of runs.  With a team first approach.  


3.  Approach:  Requires preparation and strategy, it’s vital to the hitters success.   Ex. Hunt The fastball! Stay aggressive on the heater & approach the middle of the field (Looking for A swings on A pitches to do damage) As the pitcher expands the zone we must be persistent on shrinking the zone to increase our chances of hitting ball hard.

Since 2009, our 2500 sq ft. facility, located off Miramar Road in San Diego, CA has become a baseball destination. We have 3 cages & 60ft pitching area.  As part of our 10 year anniversary, we gave the facility a full face lift including fresh coat of paint, new LED lights, new netting, chain-link safety fencing, plus rubber flooring and

Verdon Baseball Performance has officially moved in! With dedicated gym space, we now offer strength & conditioning for individuals and small groups, gym access for high school varsity, collegiate athletes, & Pro athletes.
